How to Use Flood 2 with Affinity Photo 1/2

Flood 2 is a simple Photoshop plugin that also works in Serif’s Affintiy Photo (both versions). This also applys to most other Flaming Pear plugins.

Installation

First, acquire the plugin from Flaming Pear’s site.

Either extract and place the 64-bit version of the plugin into Affinity’s Plugins folder, or extract the Flood 2 folder and add it to Affinity’s Plugin Search Folders.

Affinity 2 Plugins folders are in [LOCAL USER]\.affinity\Photo\2.0\Plugins

You can add Search Folders in Edit > Settings > Photoshop Plugins

Start or Restart Affinity and you can now locate the plugin under Filters > Plugins

The Render Doesn’t Work!

Yes, but no. The render will appear fragmented and non-functional if you try to apply the Flood 2 or similar Flaming Pear plugins to an image without first making a selection. I don’t know why but it has something to do with the way Flaming Pear splits images up for renders on the whole canvas.

hugo is a ninny

This site is built on piece of software called Hugo. I started using it because I was in a bit of a Go phase, messing around with it to learn the syntax and see it’s quirks. Go is neat. Hugo is neat. It actually makes writing up nice looking pages pretty quick.

However…

I have one major complaint so far. Somewhere in nice BOLD letters it needs to be explained that despite all of the nice people on the forums telling you that you can put whatever you want wherever you want in the
content
folder are LIARS.
